Since I can't even make the menu come up, I thought maybe I could download the factory reset. All I've found is the factory firmware, but I'm not sure if that is the same thing, I don't think so, because I thought you would do a factory reset and then download the factory firmware.

Just a thought.....thanks in advance for any information.

Thank you all!
To answer you're ? is yes an no, don't mean to be smart --- about the answer but will exsplain, Yes you can down load the factory file only if the receiver has had a vo230 bin an higher # than the 230, but if the receiver has a factory file on or an bin under 230 no you can't. the RS232 was not active at all in the receiver till the 230 bin came out. so if you have the current 288 now yes you can load the factory bin with the rs232 cable, but after you put the factory bin in by the rs232 cable you MUST use the usb stick to load the 288. hope it all makes sence an i didn't get too in depth about it. An remember when working with usb's ALWAYS have a clean stick, Fat-32 for 512 an 256mb sticks, fat-16 for 128mb an smaller sticks, an never use a stick with U-2 or U-3 or right proctect on them, an no sticks bigger than 512mb. people will say that they have used larger sticks, but it is not recomnded at all, to use a stick bigger than 512mb, you can corrupt the memory of the receiver real easy with a bigger stick.
So Good Luck an hope all helps...
