What causes this is
1>> Memory stick not compatible
2>> power interruptiong durring loading
3>> Corrupt file (file wasn't scan with a anti virus b4 loading) or not unzipped or open or transfered correctley
4>>To large of usb was used. NEVER use a usb larger than 512gb
the cause of this problem most of the time is the usb stick with a compaible problem. now this is how i got 3 of them back running...
Now i have recovered them 2-ways the last way was the easyest an the fastest way, an i impressed my bud. an that is i clone receiver to receiver using a rs232 cable ( an i think not sure but the cable was a straight tru cable not a null when i did it, not sure was just testing things at that time). now this is how you do it hook up both receiver with a rs232 cable, had them both pluged into a ups (battery back up) then power up the master receiver on, an dead receiver off (switch on back) then menue scroll over to MISC. then down to DATA TRANS(rs232), then pushed ok on remote an let main receiver load up about 15 seconds, then turn dead receiver switch on the back on, an waite about 4 to 5 minutes, an then on the dead receiver seen booting on the front an then displayed same channel # after it booted, my bud was a happy camper he messed with it for a week an only took me about 15 minutes to fix.
Now the other way i have recovered them was using a null modem rs232 with the vo201 loader, used the latest file i think i used 244 at that time. down load the loader, then unzipp it an then i scan it (use AVG here) then moved it to desk top. then get the latest file down load it, unzipp it scan it, an put in a file (that you can get to easy with the loader). Now be prepaired to take some time this is not fast at all. hook up the SV with a null modem rs232 (pins 2 & 3 reversed on a null cable) make sure its pluged in an back switch is on (use a ups--battery back up). on compt open up loader on desk top (make sure that you have selected right com-port in setting loader up), then select latest file that you unzipped an scanned, then open it to loader an run it will see bar an waite dont get in a hurry let it sit for at least 5 minutes if don't see the front display lite up with booting, run it agin, the one's that i did never turn power off (back switch on receiver) 1 receiver took about 6,7, or 8 time till it came back, another took about 15 to 20 times till seen it boot. so be ready to spend some time doing it this way. then master cleared it an sud be ready to go if its not stuck in a boot loop, had that happen to the 1 that took about 6-times.
Now if it come back on a boot loop, DON'T worry you're almost their, an this is a real easy fix. 1st thing is...."DONT USED A BIG USB STICK" or the 1 that you loaded it with before, you may be right back wheir you where an could be the problem that may have caused all. get a 256 or 512gb stick an use compt management to format to FAT-32,for the 1st time ( just a right click of the mouse doent do very well for a 1st time set up of a usb stick). an make sure that the stick DOEN'T have U-2 or U-3 on it, or write proctect on it. if they do dont use them go an get a cheepee that doen't have this junk on the like a sand disk, lexar, an kingson all have worked with not a problem here. Now with a clean an small good usb stick have only the latest file on it, then turn back swith off, insert stick in receiver, hold menue button (on receiver face) down an continue to hold, the turn back switch back on till see LOAD USB, the realease menue button then you see it count on front of receiver then let it sit till you see on tv screen "ok i reboot now" an then select yes. but if you see UD-ERRO that will be caused by a incompatability issue of the usb stick it still may have loaded so check systems info to see if you got it loaded in or not. then don't use that stick for the SV any more.
Now on the 1 receiver that i couldn't bring back, my bud used a Memorex 1gig with U-3 on that stick, an put it in a boot loop an he keep trying to get it back with the same stick doing a force load with the back switch an menue button. an when he brought it to me the receiver had only 2 green leds on main board an only a slight orange lite when the remote buttons where pushed. an i messed with it for a day an couldn't his back up. he bought another 1. but the other 3 i got back had the same symptoms no front screen display an only 2 green leds on the main board. an yhey are still running fine today.
So good luck Peggy an Mook my fingers are getting sore from typing an hope all helps you to get it going.
