Hello, we were told to purchase the Maxtor PS 3200 160gb external hi-speed 2.0 usb drive to record on for our Coolsat 8100HD. We can record successfully, but when we play movies back it will looks good for 30 seconds then the picture starts freezing, but the sound will still stream thru. It will freeze for about 10 seconds and then catch up to the sound, but it will freeze again...and so on.
The specs for the Maxtor are 8MB for the buffer size, 7200 rpm Spindle speed, 480 mbps transfer rate, and 9.3 (avg) seek time.
Has anyone been successful playing recordings back with this external hard drive or another?
