More Info On Dongles For Viewsat And Cw's***

Some information C/P from another site in italics.

"TDG mentioned the following "BEV is wasting their time and money. The Viewsat Ethernet 2000 will be in stores this May. Card sharing (IKS) will be up on Nagra3. A secure internet control word uplink center is already in place in North Korea - which can't be touched by Echo*. More details as I get them. Comments I've read on this post include speculation that Nagra3 support won't be available for our current models, Viewsat will turn to this new model, and so will customers if they want FTA after the cardswap. As I said, rumour and speculation ... but I'd be interested to hear any thoughts on this, or if anyone has also heard it."

Of course Captiveworks and Viewsat are working on a Serial IKS Dongle solution for the back of the receiver for their current models. They are more than likely releasing new models as well.

Just to let everyone know, the smart card slot on the Xtreme and Ultra could also be used for an ethernet connection. When you hear about a new Viewsat Network IKS receiver model or a Captiveworks Network IKS model coming out - this is all about business and not adding capabilities.

For those that are not convinced, though, picture attached below is an ethernet card device, for all receivers that have a CAS card slot. Yet another ethernet port possibility
