Since 2002, the Pistons are 22-10 in Games 5 through 7 of playoff series.
They are 7-4 when facing elimination,
12-4 when they can eliminate their opponent and 3-1 when both teams face elimination.
Certainly seems clutch. But the Pistons are actually at their best when a playoff series is just getting started: In Games 1 and 2, they are 26-9.
They are at their worst in Games 3 and 4 (15-23).
Remember that the Pistons are supposed to win most of their playoff games.
They have been one of the top two seeds in the
East
for six of the last seven years.
