no it cannot.it is a mpeg2HD only receiver.
thus the price of only over a couple hundred bucks.(but compare that price to coolsat and pansat mpeg2 only hd units

captain is currently working on bringing a mpeg4 hd capable unit to the market.
it will have iks also.said to be built in with Ethernet port.
it will also sport a built in dvd burner.
and will also be captains first pvr stb as well.
