Hello all. I was hopeing that anyone with the CW 100R would give an update on how this unit is preforming and what receiver your using. I have the VS7000 and want to try this unit. Any feedback would be great.

I have the CW100R with Viewsat Xtream. I'm not very happy with it. The video quality coming from the DVB recorder to TV is not as good as coming straight from my VS to TV. I've tried the updated bins for the CW100r (3-22-2007 and 3-28-2007) with no luck still sub-par quality. I even tried using different RCA cables with no improvement. The only way to get good quality is to run a RG6 cable from VS to TV and run RCA cable from the VS to DVB and RCA from DVB to TV. Then when I want to use the DVB I have to put TV on video channel to setup recording. The other thing that I don't like is that the CW100R splits the video into different files. Hopefully there will be some new bins to fix these problems.

There is a hard drive available for the VS 7000 thats installed into the viewsat receiver, I purchased mine already installed, but it if very easy to install. Its worked flawlessly with no problems. I have a receiver that I use a external hd, and I seem to have to restart when the receiver is turned off.

Re: feedback 4 CW-100R recorder
Hi, I was reading through this thread and noticed the initial video quality problem of this unit. But, on a good note I saw that things seem to improve with the latest bin I was wondering if you still had to do that whole weird cabling thing you had setup, or if the quality was now good enough to just cable things up in a normal fashion?
Also, would you now recommend this unit? I really really like my cw 600p and think this would be the perfect accessory for it.
