Why has my post count changed?? - ABA DSS

We are doing a lot of cleanup work on the site. We are deleting a lot of posts. The Newbies Start Here (rules and help) section will no longer be for posting questions. This section will be for information only. There was 77 pages in this section, dating back to 2006. If you have ever posted or answered a post here, your post count will go down. We wanted all the members to know why there post count had changed, and there were no little green men doing it. It was just us Mods. Thanks for being a member here at ABAdss, and be patient with us as we try to make the site better for us all.

I actually liked the idea of little green men taking the posts away. Next thing you're gonna tell us is that there is no Santa Clause

A great clean up initiative by ABADSS Mods.
Good, so this tells us, the Newbie Rules section and download scetions should not be used to post any questions or give any suggestions?
May be we should have specialized pages (besides the boxes type) to post the questions and keep the thread alive?

Thanks, I don't actually keep track of my post count but I did think it was just lowered. Spring cleanup is always a good idea.

Yeah, the idea is to have a more organized forum so members can find answers to their problems a lot quicker.
Keep in mind that not everyone has access to all the areas in the site, so if a member was to ask a question in an area where only a few have access to, the response time will diminish. Also, if a member ask a question in the Download area, the post will not be viewable to the public and in most cases it will be deleted.
So if you have a question regarding a specific receiver brand/model, use the Help section of such receiver brand/model. If you have a non-receiver issue, use the General Chit Chat area.

So actually the boxes "XXXX" help section and the "general chit chat" section should be used to post any questions and suggestions. May be if there is a general flyer on the page for the forum memers with a text box showing a text " For any questions related to box XXX select " XXXX general help from Forum Jump drop down and post your questions.
May be a similar text for the general chitchat would be super nice to display on the main page so that no one makes any mistake.

The rationale to clean up the clutter n to enhance the functionality of the site with recent changes n current clean up drive are certainly understandable n as evident from preceeding posts they r well recieved by members at large.

Thx for the feedback to apprise the members about the changes incorporated n contemplated.

Needless to add that everyone is on the same page when it comes to make the site better organised and better administered.

Togather taking it to the next level..stay tuned folks...

More cleanup has been done in the New Keys section. All old key postings, except page 1, have been deleted, about 32 pages. This will free up more space, but, if you posted keys here, your post count will drop. I am in the same boat as all the Mods and Site helpers. This old info is not needed anymore...
