just a question since i don't see my post going way up anytime soon so i will be a paying member for a long time to come. when someone became a site helper at 800 posts that member was able to access file's without being a paid member. what is the criteria on this subject now

I may be mistaken but i believe this is the answer to that question buddy.
#2. Site Helpers title changed to Veteran Member. Post count required to become veteran is 1,500 and 180+ days since you first registered.

you always have to pay for files, mods might be exception, but even i pay for files.

If you already had over 800 posts before the changes a few days ago and were a site helper you dont have to pay for files. You are grandfathered in. If you hadnt got to 800 posts, you know have to get to 1500 posts and be a member here for 180 days, to be a veteran site helper. To be a "expert" site helper you have to be handpicked by the mods.
