while in full screen mode.press the yellow button.
set those to match your tv.

press the sat button and select echo 5.

when your on a hd channel look at the info bar.see the HD icon on top right?
when you find a hd channel,that will light up.
and down below that,it displays 720p or 1080i
if it shows 480i and the HD icon is off,its a standard def channel.

but,hd should be night and day difference anyway lol.
