Latest Update from Norw 5/12/09
As requested by some members here is an update as best we can give at present.Files for the other Norw supported models(5000/6000/6100/7000/7100/IV200/IV300) are still being worked on.Wish we had more info to give but fact of the matter is we don't!
Hopefully they will be done and released soon so all can be back to watching sat tv.We apologize for not being able to give anymore info than what we have.If at anytime we know more that we can share we will post it so as to keep members informed. As always we appreciate all those waiting patiently for Norw to come thru.
NOTE:4000 is still undetermined at this time but has not been completely given up on!

True but not to those who invested in those machines. True its a risk FTA people take in these IRD"s but nobody likes to be f----d over like that.

I heard through the grapevine that the grapes will be pretty juicy this year , l o l ,
I mean I heard that there will be - or could be - some type of DB-9 ( serial ) - to -
ethernet "dongle" device made available for any / all FTA receivers in the near
future to convert them into "IKS" type units, with ones for the SonicView
models likely being the very first ones everyone will see becoming
available through most - if not all - SonicView dealers.
By the way, I believe I registered here at this site a long time ago, under the nick "Louie"
( without the s p a c e s ) , but I guess I went and forgot what my password was for that
nick , l o l , so I had to re-register today as "L o u i e" ( with s p a c e s in-between each
letter , l o l ) so I could log-in , l o l ! Thus, that explains why this appears to be my very
first post here , l o l !

i do think the subject of this thread was about the coolsat support from norw. Fishing is in the sports section if there is one.

Re: Latest Update from Norw 5/12/09
I honestly think it's unlikely that there will be an overwhelming flood of good news from these guys and I think that it's admirable that they are attempting to keep sales afloat by throwing some very cheap (P.R.) 'duct tape' on leak. It can only last so long I think a lot of these guys are playing a very careful game to be set for the future without dumping to many resources into a dead horse. Ya know what I mean??

Re: Latest Update from Norw 5/12/09
This is only normal. there is too much at stake here for these ird makers. Their job is to make people beleive everthing is kosher do not worry blah blah blah so they will not show their hand if the have one until it is time.

Re: Latest Update from Norw 5/12/09
I thought I would add this . there is no excuse for the 4000 not running Pansat 2700 files it's close enough to do it with very little problems , there was a project awhile back but it never took off I think because none of the principals involved actually owned a 4000 and could only go on theoretical testing and verify little incentive, the 4000 uses the very well known STi5518 CPU and the flash and ram are more then adequate. If someone sent me one in a box in working condition I would guess I would be able to get it to run Modded pansat files before N3 LMAO. But don't want to .

Re: Latest Update from Norw 5/12/09
I missed this whole thread before I posted , l o l ...
http://www.abadss.com/forum/91-fta-n...-ihub-new.html
but I did say I heard the serial-to-ethernet "dongles " will supposedly be made available very soon for all FTA receivers , including all the C OOLSAT models I would think ... but maybe not the 4000 model ... but then again who knows!
So if you were referring to "me " , bellina , when you were seemingly implying that "someone " was maybe "hi-jacking " this thread , I really don't think I was! It at least was NOT my intention!

Re: Latest Update from Norw 5/12/09
Right now it's all a huge quandary with a fine balance between not alienating loyal brand minded customers, and keeping a sinking costly (rather then profitable) product line afloat, for these last few days, with an inevitable end close in sight.

I can't be sure but I think that could have been the undertone there lol, As far as dongles are concerned it is very easy to make a device to communicate between the serial port of any stb and the Internet/Ethernet it's not an issue it's only a matter of practicality.
The technology is not the problem it's those who don't want you to have it , possibly even your Internet provider as they operate more hand in hand with the cyber cops lol.

They cant even get files out on time with the other receivers! There is no way that coolsat is working on N3. I dont think they have the coders available or smart enough to break N3., ===But you never Know!

I'm not sure if you are just unfamiliar with what a quote is, A quote using" sign is not a matter of perception, but a matter of quotable fact, a modern example would be copy and paste , I would have to challenge you to copy and paste those words in quotes, other then your own composition.
So I would guess it says more about you and what you perceive then it does about the other poster, I'm not trying to be rude but It's sort of a universal thing the way I see it and I think we all need to be tolerant, were doing a good job so far lol.

You do have a point the report states in one sentence that they are (coders) are working on N3 and the very next sentence they say that the coders left ship LMAO so it is very contradictory But it is far more complicated then it even seems after you get deep into it there other factors and the market is very unique in it's Grey market status.
