I have a cs4k. Not a clone. I'm in the same boat as other cs 4,5,6 users clone or no clone---no support. I would have been a cs user for life. It's a great product, but I will be spending most of my time in the future in the sv forum.

CLONES ..NOOO ?..I have seen the clones and mine is Not a clone and still no support .Im gona drop Coolsat like a hot rock..,I,v been down waay to much ,,I.ll buy another brand but never a Coolsat again ,its to the trash with My 6000 premium..

Mr. Moderator DO NOT PUT YOUR REPUTATION IN JEOPARDY!! There are many who purchased the 4,5 & 6K CS units that feel your comment is dead wrong. Those early Coolsat owners made purchases in good faith, they believed Coolsat was a responsible manufacturer; Coolsat has demonstrated otherwise!

You imply that because someone copied their product......(because the product was easily cloned), that those who purchased the real deal should take the pipe so Coolsat can stuff it to the cloners. To bad that those who made purchases in good faith get screwed.

I will tell you what the future holds for Coolsat!!!! They screwed their customer base and that base will do their best to screw them by refusing to purchase any Coolsat product!

What I am saying is "we rock on" (with good support) on the newer models. (6100 & up)
I don't like, or agree with, the way it was handled...no support (or very late) for the 4/5&6000...
In fact, I have a stack of them doorstops sitting right here now...but I'm not going to cry about it, because we had a good run. (all except for the 6000)
I just don't want people to think that the bad support for 4/5 & 6000 is the same for the newer models.
I also think it's a good idea to have a few different units.
I love my SonicView4000 as much or more than the CoolSat6100.
CoolSat has been around forever (second only to PanSat) and that counts for something.
They are user friendly & most of us are familiar with them.
I know a lot of old CoolSat owners have bailed ship...but, I just hate to see some folks miss out on the best unit CoolSat has come up with to date.
The CS6100 is automatic & will setup it's self.
It will scan any Dish / LNB / Switch available & make the correct settings for you.
A retard could do this, it's so simple...

Load EPG data on command for 3 or 9 days.
Select your city & state for your locals (ch# 1-100)
USB port for bin loading via memory stick.
Picture in picture. (9 or 12)
Instand channels surfing...and the list goes on.
Simply the best unit I ever had by CoolSat.
If you never buy another CoolSat unit, I can understand that...but you only punish yourself if you deny the quality found in the CoolSat6100. (and up)

I agree, the 6100 is a great receiver, The people that keep complaining about the old coolsat receivers, had been warned that these unit were told on several occasions by people that Im sure had knowledge of the problems that the 4,5 a6000 was not going to have good support. Im now skipping over any post that I see that mentions coolsat support. They all say basically the same thing "Im going to boycott Coolsat" big deal, people in the know still will purchase the new coolsats, I know I will.
My favorite receiver is still Viewsat, but I still have coolsats (the 6100)

The only reason Coolsat dropped support on the Coolsat 4k-6k is because someone cloned it. Same thing will happen with the 6100, and then what will happen? Or perhaps this is Coolsat's method of getting people to purchase new receivers. Look at Pansat, the 2500 models are still in use. I would like to feel a little confident that my receiver can last more then a yea or so. Also, why are so many places on the web still selling the Coolsat 6000? Theres going to be a lot more disappointed people.

couple of years ago pansat burned a lot of owners when they burned up good boxes with clones the new coolsats cant be cloned because of different chipsets,, do more research be fore u spout of so much

I don't care what you think Mr Satellite Junkie, only I know the coolsat are people not honest, because if they plan to end the support for such receivers(5k,6k.) they must stop long time before selling, but still doing few day ago when they stop support, sorry if you are masoquist we are not, I think they are going out of bussines, an in few days they will stop support for new models too.

Speaking as one who was duped into a cheap CS 4000 pro, it seems experienced users of FTA would better rate resellers and manufacturers of satellite receivers. Who's gives the best support, best features, best prices, etc.

Constantly trying to sell expensive upgrades is a cheezy way of doing business.

Guys, Norw supports Coolsat, They've done an excellent job on the 4000 and 5000 for the past 3 yrs. I bought mine over 2 yrs ago for $190, think about the savings, regular satelite or cable would cost you $2400 for the same length of time. Time to buy a new reciever, I've ordered the Coolsat 7100, better picture and EPG, good support, if you want to try another brand go ahead, you'll get good support, but what about the quality. Sattelite junkie I'm with you, Coolsat's are better all around systems.

In an earlier post I stated that "its time to move on!" My thoughts ahve not changed, time to move on BUT NOT TO ANOTHER COOOOLSAT. For goodness sake, there are sites still selling the 6000!!!! Look around!!! Just how do you think those new buyers of Coolsat will feel when THEY learn they just purchased something that is not supported. Is Coolsat doing anything to alert the purchasing public??? Heck NO!!!! They are SUCKING EVERY BUCK they can from obsolete, unsupported products.

I don't think CoolSat folks are behind dumping CS6000's on the unsuspecting public.
That would be FTA dealers with little or no morals, who are trying to get rid of old inventory by selling to newbies that are not aware of the recent situation.
I think this is very bad for everyone...but don't blame CS for bad dealers.

Not sure why all the crapping on CoolSat........I have a CS 6000 and love the ease of use and quality of video. The fact we have to wait a bit for BIN files is all part of the FTA world. If your not happy then buy another unit, however some of us are still happy with the relatively inexpensive unit....

Treelover, you might be a VIP member but remember that Coolsat sells reciever for FTA, thats the big dish with the motor!!!!, The 4k,5k and 6k still work for true FTA and thats what they were orrigionally built for, what we are doing is reprogramming their boxes to recieve signals that are not free, so don't BLAME Coolsat, Blame the Norw group and the Dealers that sell these boxes for alternative uses other than their orrigional intended use.

Truth be told....This is the only statement that made any sense in the long crying battle of coolsat lovers and haters. these boxes are meant for FTA. Lucky we are we Have been using them for other purpose. since aug 2007 when i got my cs 6k i saved as much cash on cable as i paid for receiver. So im ok and i will still use it for other things.This complaining should stop. No more posts.We all know what happened. Get over it.I loved it now im over it.

i for one done with coolsat all to gether as why would any body want to buy newer moldel if they can not suport what they have sold there are lots of models that have fixes with in 5 hours of down time i have one thats been working with inter net feed a beenup four 4 mounths an counting so coolsat can screw them selfs like they do there customers

coolsat6000 reunit coolsat screw customers so why would any person even consider buying newer moldels i have a very nice unit run of enter net up time 4mouths an counting price of unit 179 an tax will spent dollars so every body have nice day with your suport a company thats wants to screw peopel over no file suport would make s ick to but newer moldel when better one out there all you have to do is look an see who is up when every body eles is down my two cent worth

Norw works with Coolsat, so don't give me that crap. Norw wouldn't care if they wrote new code for these models, Coolsat is telling them not to. There is alway a chance that someone will clone a receiver, the consumers shouldn't have to suffer from this. There is a reason why they no longer are warranting these receivers, it has nothing to do with FTA channels. Besides, I haven't seen any clones around. It can't be that big of a problem.
