Re: Trade in your Coolsat 4/5/6000 to get Coolsat 6100
Pansat and Viewsat have many clones out there, such as Fortec, Pantec, and Votex. I haven't seen Pansat or Viewsat stop support for their older models. There is no excuse for the move that Coolsat has made. They work directly with Norw in putting out these bins. Why would Norw care which receiver they support, and why would Coolsat be telling distributors to stop selling the cs6000. All these receiver companies know they rely on coders to make bins for their receiver so they can sell them. The sooner a bin comes out for a brand, the more likely people will buy that type. Norw has been slow coding bins, and now they abandon last years models. They didn't even start with the 4000 model first, they just knocked off all models 4k,5k,6k right off the map with no warning. Of course many people are going to be upset, what do they expect us to feel? And after all that, they insult their customer base with a lame trade in. They'll take the old 6000's and turn them into 6100's, thats how cheap Coolsat is.

Re: Trade in your Coolsat 4/5/6000 to get Coolsat 6100
There is not enough information given by the source of this thread. What is the link to this info? I can't find it at coolsatusa.com!
At the official Coolsat site, under support, the requirements for thier general support [not replacement upgrade] is full documentary disclosure of not only ownership, but also that their authorized supplier be on their list, which was not publicly available until recently. Coolsat refused to provide me with a listing of their authorized coolsat dealers more than a year ago.
This sounds really oriental. Beware!
I have five Coolsats; I will try this with one [no deadline?]. Here I go down the [interesting] tube.
What is the link?

Re: Trade in your Coolsat 4/5/6000 to get Coolsat 6100
honestly i wouldn't buy a coolsat because to tell you the truth im not a newbe and i know alot about what is going on in the background...
I would just buy a skyview max 2000PVR for 149 and know that i have support.... Teamsky has released files for skyview , over the last 6 months , around the same time or even faster than most of the so called bigboys... they release a fix before coolsat almost all the time.... its a no brainer ......
I have also seen a exchange program from skyview but they still support their old models even if there is an exchange program running...
GO skyview

Re: Trade in your Coolsat 4/5/6000 to get Coolsat 6100
HEY GUYS!!!! I just did a Google for the Coolsat FTA trade in and guess what I found. OK, enough suspense!!
THERE IS A SITE OUT THERE (cannot post the URL) THAT IS SELLING THE 6100 FOR THE GRAND TOTAL OF $109.99 INCLUDING SHIPPING!!!
Some trade in deal! Even if the trade in offer is real, it must cost at least $10 for the seller to ship this thing. So how much is a 6100 worth??? Maybe they plan to drop support for the 6100 and this is a way to get rid of their inventory.

Re: Trade in your Coolsat 4/5/6000 to get Coolsat 6100
I would save up another 30 bucks and go with the Sonic view 4000. I bought one several months ago, after fighting that coolsat battle for w******y too long. My only regret is that I didn't make the switch along time ago

Re: Trade in your Coolsat 4/5/6000 to get Coolsat 6100
i got a coolsat 6100 & hardly ever use it anymore because the support takes too long. i like my captive works 600p & 800pvr. also thinking about getting a viewsat ultra or sonicview 360 or maybe both. support on these boxes are great along with captive works. you can buy any of these boxes for anywhere up to 140

SURE!!! There are many but 2 inexpensive fine performers that I am happy to recommend are the CW700 and the VS UltraLite.
Sonicview is a fine stb but I noticed the 1000 lately has a hesitation problem when switching channels and also switching providers using the recent bins. In any case, best not to keep all your marbles in ONE bag.
