Did I just kill my Coolsat 7000?
CS7000 was working fine.
I physically removed my two legacy dual LNBs from the dish to connect two more coax cables (one to each LNB) and connected opposite ends to a new 4-1 switch - new receiver not connected to switch yet. Reinstalled both LNBs. Got dark and I quit screwing with it for the night.
I forgot to turn off or unplug the 7000, but I never disconnected the original cables from the LNBs in the process. Came back in the house and channels were scrambled. Signal strength and quality for 110 and 119 at 90+. Turned off STB, turned back on and still scrambeld. Some channels said channel error.
Went back out and disconnected new cables from new switch, still connected to LNBs. Noticed one of the original cables at the old 4-1 switch had a loose connector (fell off). Reinstalled connector and reconnected to switch.
Still all scrambled. Set to channel 185 and left it thre for an hour. Still nothing.
Did I screw up my box some how?

Re: Did I just kill my Coolsat 7000?
Its hard to know for sure ... but typically, one should shut the LNB power to OFF before messing with the LNB's / Coax cable etc ...

P.S. Maybe fresh eyes and daylight might help you come tomorrow.

I think your advice is best. Try tomorrow when I can see. Not being able to see what I was doing is what probably got me in trouble in the first place.
Thanks for the advice.

OK - I had to try bypassing the swith and connecting to the 119 LNB only. CS7000 is now working. Will replace switch tomorrow in the light of day.
Thanks for your idea.

Re: Did I just kill my Coolsat 7000?
I hope you can help. I am a nubi to satellite. Bought a used CS7000 and it was working fine with most channels but not all. I loaded the newest fact file (v116) then the newest NORW file (211) and now I have no channels and no signal. The signal just floats around 46% I have tried going back to older NORW files but with no success. What did I do wrong? Did I miss something?
