what sat for what port
I have a coolsat8100hd.
I am in the menu screen and at the top tab it says I am on echostar 119 w great signal. That is good because I do want that bird , however of the four choices for ports I believe 119 w.should be in port 3 and 110 should be in port 2. I think this is right but why when I goto 110 and put it in port 2 the top still says echostar 119? I am really lost on how to read this menu screen to put what sat in what ports or.
What is a port after all? Is the port the position on the coolsat spliter that is numberd lnb1, lnb2, lnb3, lnb4? If so then my lnb in the 119 position is going to lnb port 3 and the lnb in the 110 position is going to lnb 2. Just trying to get both birds, I have a wide dish with 2 lnbs. thanks .

Re: what sat for what port
What LNB's are you running?
Typically, the set is as follows:
110 port 2
119 port 1
129 port 3

Re: what sat for what port
thank you for such a quick reply and yes I have a splitter a little like that except it is a coolsat one. but basically the same.
I have 110 in port 2 and 119 in port 3 and in my screen(coolsat8100) I am having trouble understanding why the tab says 119 but my satelite says 110 and what does diseqc stand for?

Re: what sat for what port
The # displayed in the top right corner of the screen is the sat your dish/lnb is pointed at. Make sure that both sides of the screen match. So if on the right it displays 123, then on the left you have to be set up for 123.
It may be either that your port assignments are not correct, or your dish is not pointed correctly.

Re: what sat for what port
I have 2 d/n lnbs. i think the dish might be pointed off and that might be why i get 119 and not 110. What do you think.?

Re: what sat for what port
If you have the LNB that houses two white eyes in one housing, then you do not need to use the Desq switch displayed above. Run one wire off your dish direct to the receiver, and set up your settings.
The two eyes in one housing LNB has an internal switch that you can't see.

Re: what sat for what port
I dont have that one. I have 2 seperated ones mounted in a wide dish and in the mounts it says 119 or 110. SO I know that the one furthest to the left of the dish is the 119 and the next one in is the 110 and there are two other spots with no lnbs .That is how I know that the 119 wire goes to the port 3 and the 110 wire goes to the port 2. I am a little confused on how to set these ports up and how to see which one is geting what. it looks as though I am getting 119 in port 2 and so I guess I need to turn to make the 119 go into the far left lnb and the 110 show up in the other? sound right?

Re: what sat for what port
that cs switch is notoriously crappy. the heavy duty chieta 4 x 1 is the only one anybody should use. Also hd pgrmng is moving to other sats. You might consider picking up the 4 LNB yolk for your wide dsh and turn it into a 1000.1

Re: what sat for what port
As A matter of fact I have noticed missing channels and the wierd thing is I do have 119 and 110. Before the windstorm and before I moved the dish I had more 500 channels and now only one. This is wierd. I would think instead of getting more lnbs on this dish I should get another wide dish because I do have a 4 way cs splittler or whatever you call it. so I got room for 2 more lnbs. All advise is appreaciated.,
thanks .

Re: what sat for what port
I have 110 in port 2 and 119 in port 3 because it is more sleak on the way the wiring looks and sits

Re: what sat for what port
check your connections to both LNBs.
if they look good, try wiring straight to each LNB using a barrel connector. If that works for each bird its most definitely your switch. Get a good one like the chieta heavy duty
