I don't see how it will be enforced. They cant (or don't)enforce copyright laws as it is.

Protection of asset's or property is the responsibility of the owner. If the owners lock on property, or security measures have been compromised then they as owners need to take steps to make their property more secure.
Otherwise we would all leave our houses, garages, sheds ect unlocked and wide open for anyone. Why not? The government will step in and say it is not our fault our property was stolen.

I cant wait to see one of these politicians kids up against piracy charges over their I-pod. It could happen under this potential law.
