looking at viewsatusa, they look pretty much like the same stb hardware wise.
the ultra lite just doesn't have optical output nor component output.
so if you don't use those then go for the UL.otherwise you need the ultra to connect to your ss receiver using optical output.(consult your ss receiver).and to get better picture quality, you need component.(tho s-video is very comparable)
really depends on your needs.looks the same otherwise.
iv read the UL only has 3 day epg though?
but viewsatusa shows it having the same 32 mbs of ram of its big brother ultra.so not sure what up there.as the ultra gets 7 day epg as typical of stbs with 32 mbs of ram.
iv also read the UL doesn't play mp3 and jpeg viewer like the ultra can?
really nice price,so if you don't need/want some extra's.then the ultra lite looks good.
you should have both,so you know for sure.

LOL.so what the heck, grab the big brother ultra and see which one you like better.
iv never been a fan of buying the exact same stb for the same house anyway, that's just boring, and you don't get to expand your skills.
so id say just get the ultra,so you can learn to use diff stbs.(tho they probably look and setup pretty much the same anyway lol)
or you can grab a sonicview, thats viewsats sister anyway.and have diff support team, this will = less downtime over the years,as one team will be up before the other.
did you see the new 360 sonicview Premier? its a pvr stb buddy in your price range.
up to you,its always good to support multiple brands.help 'em all out.
