Support for cw3000 rev2?
Can one of the moderators tell me if the Captiveworks REV2 is supported in the PREMIUM section?
If so is a working fix available or will it cost me to find out?
Have looked all over without success for a working fix (03 06 08 or earlier does not work on this REV2! ) i.e. Cannot see KEYS, THIRD PARTY, etc under Admin

It has nothing to do with what V. you have. Your loading a patch! Look for a larger file then add that one on top of it. I think 2-13 is what you need then add the 3-6.

yeah, thats the thing about Linux based systems, they seem to be the best really, once setup from what i understand not much can compare to them really.
but they require many hours of reading.
don't give up.
did you see all the sticky threads in this section?
this looks like a great one to start with:

Re: Support for cw3000 rev2?
Guys, this is essentially the same question I asked in Post titled "SHA1 validation error: Please Help" yesterday and no one responded. I've followed everything in all stickys across this site and others with different combinations of upgrade/update order. Even had to re-image once successfully. The furthest I can get is with the 2/21 update. The last three updates (2/25/ thru 3/06 correction) will not install because of the SHA1 validation error.
I can see it successfully scans in 98% of all channels (noticeably HBO 300 and a few pay per views are missing), and see the channels (after I update the keys manually) with intermittent blackouts because it's based on the 2/21 update .
I suspect that you, Mr. Bill, may get all the way to where I am and suffer the same issue. So again if anyone has any input I'd be very grateful.
Thanks

Sounds like a bad down load? Dont un zip it and try. I find some times the file is zipped 2 times so it has to be unziped once and when you do that you'll see it zipped again....... Conferm you have the 2-13 and only put on the latest dated file.
As for bad scans laking ch., usualy weak signal do to wrong lnb setting or out of tune dish. Your quality is very important like any DVB type setup!!!!

Re: Support for cw3000 rev2?
Can you tell me what steps you took to as far as you did?
Once there, I'm sure we can move forward between us and the other helpful guys on this site.
As you indicated, help and up-to-date info on this Rev2 box is very scarce and many assume the REV2 is the same as the REV1 box.

The only difference in rev. 1 or 2 is the mother board, and the cpu. Nothing is affected by the change.

Re: Support for cw3000 rev2?
For the record I'm configuring this box for a friend on my perfectly running system. It is a rev2 CW3K as well, with no Skywalker or hardrive yet. Signal should not be the issue since D*** 500 pro was professionally installed that I've tweaked myself to get consistent 100% signal, 80+% quality. On my setup I personally run SV8000 with no channel losses and configured at least 8 other brands with multiple models for other folks without ever missing channels after scans.
In http://www.abadss.com/forum/453-cw-3...tml#post237229 the last post claims "You may have to upgrade to 1.0.1.12 instead 1.0.1.2. hope that this helps."
I haven't seen a 1.0.1.12 anywhere. If it ever existed, upgrade would have come from Captiveworks official website. They apparently will only make available the latest for download. So, if anyone has this in their archives please make it available.
Best combination (after a re-image because I managed to screw up the boot process and it'd stay stuck after splash page) was to take factory 1.0.1.1, upgrade to 1.0.1.3 and install the 2/09 fix and then sequentially update through 2/21 fix. After updating keys manually some of the scanned channels will show and momentarily black out for about 1-3 minutes. I assume the 3/06 fix will resolve missing channels and blackouts if I can get past the SHA1 error.
I did the unzipping of the .ZIP fix, (which gets us the .bz2 file) and let the CW3k unpack the .BZ2 file. Successfully unpacking the .BZ2 works in every instance.
If I unzip the .BZ2 file myself (which gets us a second .bz2 file and an install file) when the cw3k try's to install it , it will protest that it is an invalid file type and abort update every single time. So enough of that. By the way I download and uzip the files in one computer and transfer over the .bz2 file to cw3k on a memory stick. And no, I do not UNZIP the files ON the memory stick itself.
In conclusion I figure either the next fix for cw3k will work correctly, or someone will help with the solution of why some sha1 files cause failure to install. If the 1.0.1.12 ever existed and it somehow has the key to what is needed, please share if you have it.
If it is a bad file for the 3/06 fix I've got, where else can i get it from? I've tried it multiple times and more than likely it is the same file distributed amongst the different sites, and who has the time for download roulette?
I'm impressed overall with the machine and have seen the rest of it working beautifully. Once I get past this issue I would whole heartedly recommend it to anyone that can afford it.

Re: Support for cw3000 rev2?
The 12 file is not to be used. If you have a ver.2 go straight to the 13 file. I guess there is trouble that cant be fixed on the 12 so they have been removed. If you have a rev.1 you can go from 11 to 13 and completly skip 12.

Re: Support for cw3000 rev2?
Thanks, at least that's out of the eqaution. Now we're back to where I started...
what can we do about bad SHA1 files? Apparently some of you unpacked the 3/06 .bz2 file without any incident so what's the "gotcha"? Can we edit the SHA1 files and resave it? I've stared looking at the contents of it to see if I can make any sense of it. Perhaps a simple edit or replacement with another SHA1 would do the trick. I may know enough coding to be almost dangerous.

Re: Support for cw3000 rev2?
I'd like to see this thread continue since I've learned more here from the posts than anywhere else! Why not start a section dedicated especially to the REV2?
Further: My box was delivered March 07, 2008 and updated immediately with the latest 1.0.1.13 update.
It has never seen 1.0.1.11 sw and I assume (and we all know what that means!) it is why I have not been able to see the "keys, autoroll, etc" that most refer to whenever advice for updates is requested.
This box will never "see" 1.0.1.11 since, according to CW, it will not work with the latest Rev2. I have tried and found this to be true.
So, after reading up everything I can find, downloading and testing every scenerio that I know of including sequentially installing/patching updates from 02 09, I still don't see an inkling of B** (except unencrypted) nor any reference to "keys, autoroll etc".
This leads me to believe, very reluctantly I might add, that this box is specifically engineered to render testers and newbies like myself, redundant.
I hope the hell this is not so and I ask others smarter and better informed to prove I am wrong.
Cheers!

Re: Support for cw3000 rev2?
Agreed.
The latest update installed correctly as I had hoped. Now I have to see what setting is still off that is causing missed channels during sat scan. I am swamped with other must do errands this weekend but will get back to you ASAP Mr. Bill with my latest findings.

Re: Support for cw3000 rev2?
There is nothing different between a rev 1 or rev2. It is just a cpu, and a motherboard. All fixes are the same. The info on this site is great, and says this box is not for the beginer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It is not a FTA box it is a DVB-S, read on DVB setups and youll understand thay dont play nice with SW switches and have lots of problems with dish pro setups that dont supply there own power!!! This is a hobbyest box! Not set it and forget it!

Re: Support for cw3000 rev2?
Feel better now?
I came in here with a clear and concise problem, with limited knowledge granted, but asking for help all the same.
How can we move on unless we challange and ask questions of what we don't know?
Now, with that said, can you help with what is still a problem?
I'll say this one last time: NO reference to "Keys, Third party or Assessories" in the CW or updated CW software in 1.0.1.13. And, forget about anything earlier, it just does not work.
FYI. 2 x DP44, Viewsat, Coolsat, 102plastic b & d
Please advise

The magical 1.0.1.13 file your aking about is a FACTORY FILE. Every manuf. has them they will never have any 3rd party info on them! Your looking for the SC files, as allready stated you need the 2-13 file with the latest patch to have any 3rd party "keys".
Your DP 44's could be part of your troubles, you havent stated what type of switch your using? These boxes and all DVBs dont work with SW type switches. Again this is not a FTA box, its a DVB card.
and no I feel no better because some have half the understanding and feel they are owed the answers! Read up on DVB card setups and you'll have a much better understanding of the 3k!!!!!!!!

Re: Support for cw3000 rev2?
My switch is a dp sw44. to a dish500 with 1 DPpro lnb pointed to 82W + identical lnb pointed to 91W.
I understood about the factory sw.
I understood about the bz2 patches and sequential variations that I have already tried.
To help clarify, let me ask you this: Should I expect to see, after patching with the latest bz2 "fix" under admin>install, etc, : the key menu and/or the third party menu and/or the assessories menu?
If the answer is ves, then what please, am I doing wrong?
Otherwise, we totally misunderstand each other and I thank you for your patience.

Re: Support for cw3000 rev2?
Under admin, third party, (its above configuration) keys, at that point you can enable disable and see them. The get key option I have read doesnt work, so I have no clue why it dosent.
