Re: 4000 hd freezing problems!
there should be a switch on the back you use to shut the stb down before you unhook any wires, load bin files, plug in or unplug the unit, etc...
look on the top right, thats where it is on my viewsat, I thought all the stb's had them.

have a 3000 & a 4000 and your right there is no switch on the back like other boxes.Your best bet is to do a restore I know it's a pain in the *** but **** happens that we don't know been there. At lease if you do a restore and have the same problem then it may be your box and will have to send it back for repair. Both of my boxes work fine.

Enter, back. scroll to signal information(7)enter, top is signal, bottom bar quality....If there not both in the green I suggest fine tuning your dish!!!!

Re: 4000 hd freezing problems!
I agree on signal info I knew that...and yes...sometimes the bottom signal is dipping into the yellow on center ice hockey channels, but on the same dish and HD, I get movies that are 100% green...?
How do you find a dish from the antenna function to find and fine tune and 'lock' on a dish...I had to bring my friends lower model CW to find my dishes...

Remember the 3 and 4k are picky with there switch usage. The Chieta heavy duty is one of the only "non powered" switches that works reliably!

If your using dish pro lnb's(big DP on back of lnb's), you should be using a powered switch....If your using standerd legacy lnb's...The Chieta hevy duty diseqc is a must....I suggest reading till your eyes bleed, you will understand the termanoligy much better!!!
