I just unboxed a brand new cs7000 bought from fta tech. but it wont turn on at all? does it need to have anything plugged in the back before trying to turn it on?

you should have power no matter what, check your breakers or try another plugin.

Hello and welcome. If you plug it in and turn it on from the back power switch and then the front power switch you should see something on the receivers display. I hope you only want true fta sats with that receiver.

oh bummer, I guess my unit is defective, and I was hoping to use it on not only true fta sats. Do you guys have any recommendations as to which is the best receiver out there for under 250 dollars? thanks for the quick reply

Right now any receiver is a risk, soon all will be almost down. Look into a sv elite.

take the cs back while you can ,check out reciever reviews here and make sure you do your home work on whats up and whats going to be up in the near future.

ty all for your quick responses! I've decided to get the sv elite, just found out fta tech is less then 12 miles away from my place, and they offered to exchange it with the sv elite
