Downgrading to coolsat 6000
With a hopeless situation, and banking on the coolsat 7000, newer than 6000 version, someone would think that the newer version would be supported first, but apparently nothing but bad choice and money down the drain and hard breathing when thinking about the day I purchased this stupid 7000 version, this is as polite words as I can express it.
Anyway, Is it possible to downgrade the coolsat 7000 software to work with the coolsat 6000/5000 software, and may be end this nightmare? Alot of good people might know the answer, and always thank you in advance.

Re: Downgrading to coolsat 6000
Personally, I would try loading the Factory file of the 6000 to the 7000 and seeif it still works. If not you can reload the 7000 Factory file and it will take it back.
If after loading the 6000 file and check receiver version in menu it confirms 6000 version, then you can use the r-link on it. |

Re: Downgrading to coolsat 6000
Hi to all readers.
I downloaded and extracted 4,5, and 6000 factory bins, but, it wouldn't work as the 7000 version files end with .ird extension, where the the 4,5, and 6000 bin files end with a .stb extension. Moreover, I changed the .stb file to read xxxxx.ird, but when I try to download it to the receiver it says, you have the wrong receiver model, or something to that effect. So, if there's a way to make the coolsat 7000 receiver accept the .stb files, it might work, but it seems to me it is hardware coded. |
