What is the deal with support for the 9000 HD? Is this their idea of support? Is this what they think support should be like? Are they kidding? I guess an update every three months or so is good enough for us. WRONG! For this to be the way you support your most expensive box is a joke. Can they think people are happy with this? You know we all paid extra money for the circuitry and the development that it took to make this and every receiver like this capable of getting reception other than pure FTA. I refuse to believe and won't ever believe that that added feature is put in there and it wasn't incorporated in the price of the receiver. That is the very reason most of these are sold. How many do you think they would sell if FTA was the only thing it could do period? Come on it is absolutely something we have a right to gripe about. Certainly service like this or the lack of in this case is worthy of some pretty bitter gripes. Hey guys why is it a HD box anyway? How many free channels are in HD? RIGHT! It wouldn't be worth having a HD box for true FTA. And besides true FTA is real junk if you ask me. In fact I'll go as far as saying that the programming on Dishnet is pretty crappy sometimes. Hey guys get your heads screwed on right or prepare to be trashed on line and soon out of business

Ah, but that is exactly the purpose of a FTA receiver, to catch FTA channels in which ever format they are transmited. Viewsat and any other company DID NOT and WILL NOT manufacture a receiver to illegally steal signal from paid providers. Add-on modules and 3rd party softwares are not to be used based on FCC regulations.
Take what you can test for as long as you can test it.

Ababdss doesn't sell receivers. Support comes from those who test/use the receivers and provide feeback to sites like Abadss. There are none better than Abadss at providing as much info and help to those testers/users.
It's a full circle if you can picture it. Manufacturer>Users/testers>Abadss(or others less qualified)>Users/testers, >then eventually the Manufacturer makes better models. All of it related to FTA, none of it to Bev or DN.

Let's not be ignorant or even nieve. The features to get through coded networks didn't just fall into these receivers by some act of god did they? How many of tese type receivers do you think any of these companys would sell if they all were purely FTA? And out of all the current users what persent do you think are only interested in pure FTA? Come on! First of all pure FTA sucks. Secondly those features that some believe are there magicly or from some act of fate or by miracle are not and they were not free either we payed for them somwhere in the price of those receivers. So don't by wise and tell me to go out and pay for some subscription that is idiocy, that is the whole reson I've got this thing in the first place. And the same goes with many many others. If you don't feel this way I'd say you were a minority and your views don't acound for much.

if it was me i would donate it to the nearest halfway house or homeless shelter. they would love the 123 bird as do the actual few who ever try it.i myself even enjoy a little gunsmoke or andy griffith at times.be a great tax write off , even offset the big economy stimulous check you will get in May.then take that economy stimulous check and do a little more research and buy a better supported product.lets face it ,no sense in driving yourself or others into a frenzy when there isn't anything any of us here can do about it.of couse i am probably in the minority and my views don't count for much. however i will never let such a petty thing as money make my life miserable.
life is way to short and precious for that.money ill spent can be a hard pill to swallow but like alot of things if you try and fight it , it will only make it worse.

I agree with dblinkous, this site should look out for its members. Lets not BS ourselves as to the reasons we buy these fta boxes. The Neusat people screwed a lot of people by selling their boxes with the implied promise of support. Now, we all know that they are scammers, lowlifes, and whatever else you would like to call them. But the thing that really pisses me off is that they are still advertising the boxes as if they were being supported,nd anye that allows this is becomes an ally to the same scam,as long as they don't have any support they should not be allowed to advertise or sell this particular box on this site. My two cents.

we do look out for our members here but i or others here do not have the time to walk the quarter of million thats right quarter of a million people here through all the recievers, when support is going to die or lack luster.. but i will be here to help you all out the best i can, and the chioce was his and i am very sorry that he is not getting what he wants but a informed decion was made and there is nothing we can do but hope that they can support the reciever that HE decided to purchase ..

and yes they are still selling fta recievers as a legal reciever they are awesome (as a fta reciever)but no where on the box any box does it say free dn/bev.. please understand we do not have anything to do with the recievers we just try to give the best information and firmware updates possible and i think we are the best... the decision on what you buy is not up to us ..

I agree with both sides.

I jumped the Neusat ship about 4 months ago, and got a couple SV's.
I have a couple VS's as well.
I have 2 Neusats sitting under the bed, doing nothing.

I pop in every couple of weeks to see if anything has dropped, but no luck. Even if they released one, I would NEVER disconect one of my more reliable recievers for it.

Just go with another make, you will save yourself a ton of stress.

I'm am not having any stress that was not the point. I have jumped that ship long ago also, how could I not have? I would just like to continue the input and post in as many places and as many times as I can what a bunch of jerks these neosat and neusat dudes are so nobody who reads any of this purchases one of these and gets screwed in the butt like so many did. A week and a half ago I read yet another statement by the new owner of the whatever they are calling this place now. It said that after the weekend or the following monday they hoped to have new bins out for the stuff that so many thought they forgot they made. Well that bunch of BS came and went just like so many of the past ones. These guys are the receievers that cry wolf. I believe that thier continued fairy tales are just to stir false faith in the junk they have out there unsold. I just think it is wrong to sell something that you turn your back on and don't stand behind. I also believe it is only fair that everyone should be aware of the ongoing saga and somehow the company ends up paying for thier incapabilities in one way or the other.
