Re: update!!no bin needed all channels up!!
Everything on DN is wide open buddy...has been all month.
I wish you didn't start so many threads saying the same thing. (that we already knew about for weeks)
All receivers need a bin to work...but most all old bins are working.

An FTA box can not work without a bin.
If you go into MENU and go to system information, you will see the bin version your unit is currently operating on.
One might compare a bin file to an operating system like Windows on your PC...it won't work without it.
You are mistaken an old bin, for NO bin. (maybe what you meant was no new bin)
The only reason everybody is "wide open & up" on DN, all month long is, because they are not broadcasting any ECMs in the data stream...due to too many complaints about being down by their customers. (and trust me...that won't last very long)

Actually, it would not be the factory bin.
The factory bin or flash file is the way you get the box when new from manfacturer.
Then we put a different bin file on it to open the channels for DN & BEV.
All I have been saying is...your unit is up on an older bin file.
If you flash the unit with the factory bin...then you can only catch TRUE FTA channels...not DN or BEV.
And I'm not trying to give you a hard time...just trying to make it clear how it works so you better understand.

ok,than what bin is it when you factory defalt? scan channels?does it fall back to the defalted bin?wipe it clean?like starting over?....ive done some programming my self and if i would mess up i would defalt and start over?if i could fix what i messed up.even though the bin is preprogramed file.explain?than y wouldent the stb dump the bin and fall back on the factory defalted file?...ok so what your saying the when you defalt..the bin stays in the stb and wips out the sats and channels?and the only real way is to use the stb loader.to truly defalt the box?

Re: update!!no bin needed all channels up!!
If you have flashed your box to a 3rd party bin it will recognize the new bin as factory. So if you "factory default you will go back to default settings on whatever bin you have installed.
If you re-flash to the original factory bin you will find you are blacked out.
Hope this helps.
