Wow, Thanks for the quick reply!!!

The problem is that I have all the tools the reciever does not seem to have the PVR function enabled. I am able to browse the USB drive and view photos but I can not record even when I push the record button

I am wondering if I need to update the recievers software???

Did you format the drive from the receiver? I used a 160g drive that I previously used for backup on my computer. I tried to use it by just plugging it in and recording; but, I couldn't record.

Once I formatted it, I recorded with no problems. Be aware that you will lose any data on the drive when you format it so backup anything you want to keep.

you need to use FAT32 to format the drive. Go here:

I had a problem with my remote. The black remote didnt seem to work when I pressed rec. But the white one did. Make sure the STB light on the remote comes on when you press rec. I couldnt get this to work using the black remote. I wonder if the remote is faulty.

The best way to test the recording w/o having to press the rec button would be to try out the PRV timer recording.

I recorded about 5 minutes of video on my 4GB USB thumb drive. I then proceeded to check to see if anything was on my thumb drive by loading it onto my PC. There was a ts file that gets generated. But I couldnt seem to play it using even the VLC player. However, I got my MAC to play it using mpegstreamclip.
