Re: Visionsat IV2000 signal meter question
It's got a signal meter but first you need to figure out which satellite you want to get and setup the antenna settings for that satellite in order to get a signal or better a quality signal level.
We would need to know what type of dish and LNB you are using to help you get the right settings.

Re: Visionsat IV2000 signal meter question
a Visionsat IV2000 PVR Plus, a 30" Winegard with telcom t1500 singal linear LNB. Not sure which is the best bird to point to. The on screen menu shows a lever of 75-85 percent but now sure what that is messuring.

Re: Visionsat IV2000 signal meter question
I have been out there all day trying to align this dish and still nothing. I have a dish 500 set up about 30 feet away and am trying to aim it in the same aprox direction trying to find a bird that is linear. I read something about skewing the LNB but mine does not seem to move except back and forth

Re: Visionsat IV2000 signal meter question
Nice dish but with that LNB you will get only FTA satellites and most of them have a low signal. You will need to get a hold of a Circular LNB in order to receive the main satellites or a combo LNB that carries both Polarities Circular and Linear.
You can still try the linear LNB but not much worth watching on those satellites.
If you still want to attempt this with that LNB let us know and we will tell you the settings for the satellites you will be able to catch.
And one more thing you should get when you order your new LNB is a motor for that dish because you will need it to get all the satellites out there worth watching. With the dish you have now you will only get 1 satellite.

Re: Visionsat IV2000 signal meter question
I already ordered an ivacomm Quad and also a motor. I hope to have it Monday. Was just hoping I could get something with the singal to try it all out. Is it going to be a pain to set up this motor and new Quad LNB?

Re: Visionsat IV2000 signal meter question
You might want to shoot for 123W, 30" dish, KU Band.
Here are the dish settings:
Elevation: 23.4°
Azimuth (true): 235.0°
Azimuth (magn.): 246.1°
LNB Skew [?]: 36.7° (turn clockwise standing behind the dish)

Re: Visionsat IV2000 signal meter question
It will take some time but the most important thing to keep in mind is that the post (arm) of the dish has to be perfectly plumb so use a post level or a small torpedo level to make sure it is before attaching the motor and dish to it.
When you do receive your new items we will show you how to do it and it will be easier then you think but it will take you about 4 hours for the first time.
There are adjustments if your post is not plumb.
You can try to get something with your setup as is for now if you want.
LNB type --- Universal
LNB freq. --- 10750
LNB Power --- On
22KHz ---- Off
Diseqc ---- None
Legacy SW--- None
Use these settings to get KU band satellites
Satellites List for Free To Air Channels, American, Arabic, Chinese, Persian, Turkish, Kurdish TV

Re: Visionsat IV2000 signal meter question
Not all LNB's need to be skew'd. Keep us posted on your progress. Consider it practice for when your motor and invacom arrive.

Not sure if that Dish has a skew setting, think you can only do elevation on the collar.
Skew is a setting that allows you to turn the dish like in a clock ward or counter clock ward direction so the emblem on the dish looks sideways almost.
