help setting up new 8khd - ABA DSS

is there a file that would allow me to see at least the basic channels. i am hooking up my captain 8000 and would like to see if everything is set up correctly, and of course see some tv.

with a captain hd you will want a dish pointed at bev also.because thats where the hd channels are.
what do you have for dish/s and where is it/they pointed now?

your dish need to be pointed at 82, there is not a lot of channels on that sat. check lynsat for that sat and it will give a list of channels and whats on. Then you need to have a current bin file loaded to your STB

thanks for responding. since not working with the usb i tried the serial cable, and it worked. that is for about 20 minutes, i was watching channels then it froze now its at the boot and nothing is happening.

at this moment i just have the original bev dish. i did manage to load the bin file with the serial cable . it worked for about 20 minutes then it hung.. i restarted it and it stayed at the boot, i then unpluged it restarted it and now seems like it back to the no service but the box seems to act normally , as if the bin file is no longer valid.

ok,just flip rear switch off/on now and wait for a/r as long as the channels are still scanned in and settings are correct.
