Captain 8000HD won’t boot…

Hello everyone, I never had any issue before and now my Captain 8000hd will not boot…it will stop to the blue light and instead of showing the time it will show 4 small bars (----) Any ideas???

I think you will need the proper loader and the factory file to fix.

Thanks for the quick reply...i did use the proper loader (1.25) and the proper factory file and still no boot...as a matter of fact there is no display on and the receiver is not responding...tried using the power button from the remote...still no boot.

Leave you receiver OFF then open your loader and select your file.Turn your receiver back ON,as soon you see the first light or something,select start or download on your loader.

I have no other idea buddy.Give it a try.

oh yes.your problem reminded me this fix i had only in the 7100 section.i moved it to the captain general.
its a boot fix for all current models.

After following all instructions, when the file (softcam) try to write to the receiver… I get the message (Check your S/W)… Any suggestions’?

1) Try downloading the loader-fix again. Perhaps it got corrupted on transfer.

2) The boot freeze has another workaround as follows:➘

Once you have the original factory bin (of 17/08/07) installed, the unit should boot properly. You can then attempt to install the Boot_Fix_V120 utility.

/REM: I've noticed that the boot problem arose initially about 6 - 8 generations (versions) ago, and relates to the newer bins.
(Hopefully the "boot-freeze" problem will be addressed as the code matures ...IMVHO)

In any case, before installing any new fixes, the best method is: ALWAYS revert to / re-install the factory bin FIRST. (You should get an "error" message asking if you want to 'force install' ... this is normal. You always have to say OK to revert to the pristine level of the factory bin).

I have the exact same problem. I got the unit brand new, updated to v644 with USB and it got stuck on boot. I eventually powered off but since then I get the four bars every time I power on. I can force boot with the front panel buttons as indicated, but every time I power off the unit won't boot afterwards. Using standby works properly.

I have reverted to factory bin to no avail. USB flash works well, serial does not. It always stays stuck at the "Please Wait!!! Don't disconnect your cable!!!" message in the end.

Can anyone assist in reviving this box?

I tried the loader fix and I also get the "Check your S/W" message, just like Paco. Since my last message I updated to v645 through USB and that did not change a thing.

Same thing here, can't boot, can't do the boot fix because of the main switch being trurned off???
