Why do we have to factory reset????
I just loaded the new bin (last night). I am wondering why there are a lot of post that say you have to do a factory default reset before loading a new bin for testing. Wouldn't this remove all you sat a channel settings?
Also because I didn't do this, could it be the cause of my freezing on BEV. It isn't as bad as it was for the last bin, It is only freezing for a second but it is annoying.

Re: Why do we have to factory reset????
Some people figure it's best to do this because it "cleans" the system and give a better, fresher load. I myself don't do this and so far I've never run into problems, but I can see how it may be of benefit to do this . Choice is yours.

Re: Why do we have to factory reset????
A factory reset generally clears all your settings. Like sattelites, diseq settings, local network, time, and your channel list. It's good to do this every now and then to rescan your sats, when they move channels to different tp's.

Re: Why do we have to factory reset????
The factory default will erase your settings and your channels. Sometimes it is needed with new bins. It is also recommended if you have been having trouble with the bins to load the Factory file and set the box back to original specs and start over. This usually fixes any small problem with bins or setting issues in the STB...

A factory reset will not help you Buddy. Depending on where you live. This sat is below the horizon. Take a look at this...

Re: Why do we have to factory reset????
Thanks for all the replies. So if I understand the replies right, you really don't have to do a reset every time. I have only had this (from new) for a week and there has only been two bin put on it, so there shouldn't be to much crap on the memory, yet. The only thing is, would a reset fix the freezing I am getting with this newest bin V648. The freezing isn't anywhere near as bad as it was with the V646 bin but it is still there. Is anyone else having freezing issues with V648?????
I am also setting up a new multi LNB dish today so I can test Nimiq 82. Is HD still up and running so that I can test with it?

captains don't have channel master support,so you will have to scroll down to one of the blank birds called user set or new sat, suppin like that and add the info.seek lyngsat.com for info.
