you need to move the dish for a stronger signal.

Re: Quality only at 10%, but Strength at 78%
Your not getting a signal. Q is the signal strength and S is the connection to your lnb. Your dish may have moved slightly. Is this on all channels?

Re: Quality only at 10%, but Strength at 78%
It was because I did a Blind Scan.
When I do an Auto scan I have 78% S & 68% Q, but just picking up 141 channels?
What am I doing wrong?

Re: Quality only at 10%, but Strength at 78%
prot.captains have a wizard and one button setup.
just factory default.answer the questions correctly.and click yes for OBS.
it will enter correct settings and scan your channels for you buddy.
if your stuck with not knowing what to enter on one of the screens along the way, just ask what you should put there.

Re: Quality only at 10%, but Strength at 78%
ok read on another site, you have your 7100 turned on with the other line from the twin.
turn that stb off before scanning and you should be ok.
you have two cables coming out of the twin to each stb right? no external switches used?

Hey Arb,You were of great help to me on my 7100.
My 7100 is on a totally seperate dish and pointed to different birds altogether. So my issue has nothing to do with my 7100 being turned on.

Re: Quality only at 10%, but Strength at 78%
oh ok.
and is this other dish a brand new installation? did you just aim it yourself?
or has it been up for awhile and the 7100 hooked to this dish scans just fine? or some other receiver worked just fine in the past to verify it is properly aimed?
and it is also pointed at 119/110 correct?

I spent today pointing to both birds. I used a Charlie IRD and found both birds on the DP 500 Twin with signal strength over 100 for each.

No.
I just want to use this STB for 110/119 that's it.
Are you saying that these birds don't have HD programming?
In either case I should still be able to use this STB to watch...right?

Re: Quality only at 10%, but Strength at 78%
yeah.well see the 8000hd cannot work for mpeg4hd like what dn uses on 119/110 for example.and no add on you can place in the receiver or anything.
the captain 8000 is a mpeg2 hd only, this is what bev uses for example.along with free to air channels in hd on other birds like 87w for example.
yeah, you can use it like your 7100 on 119/110 but you wont get any hd.thus making it kinda pointless to buy the 8k.
82w has a free to air channel in mpeg2 hd for example thats worth getting.

So is there a FTA stb that runs on Mpeg 4 so I can hook up to 110/119?
I guess my other option is to connect my other two ports from my Diseqc sw to this 8000 and then I can at least catch HD on 82 & 91.

Re: Quality only at 10%, but Strength at 78%
yeah, but of course they cost much more then the captain 8k.
a sonicview 8000 is pretty much top dog for a mpeg4 hd capable receiver.they go for about $400 and the add on is another $150.worth every penny tho.
but the captain is what i think is best for mpeg2hd only.just because she is priced right.the other mpeg2hd only stbs are like same money as the sonicview 8000.
all in what your looking for buddy.
you can combine 2 dp twins with a diseqc if you want yeah.all four ports will go into the 4 ports of the diseqc.and one line out to your receiver.

Correction...
What I mean to say and hope to do is...
connect both 82 & 91 to my old MS-4 sw and then I can connect 4 stb (if I really wanted to) but for my current needs two will suffice.
Will this work?
