Dish Pro antenna/receiver handshake - ABA DSS

I have a Dish Pro antenna but when I try to program my new Captain 8000 and I select Dish Pro antenna I get a message saying that it cannot find an active port and then it will not accept the Dish Pro setting for the antenna.

What can I do to get it to recognize the proper port setting?

Remember if you have a dish pro LNB setup you have to select a different port for each sat.Rule of the thumb is 119 is on port one and 110 is on port 2.If you have other lnbs just select another port for them such as port 3 for 129 etc.Enjoy.

do you have a switch between lnb and box because if you are only pointing at 110,119 with the dish pro then you don't need an additional switch because the lnb has a built in switch

You may need to do a scan (any type) just as a preliminary. so that the stb recognises your Dish Pro lnb.....(pansats don't even have the dish pro lnb option until a short scan is done...then it appears in the menu)
kinda like adding new hardware to a computer it doesn't know it's there until you turn it off and on so it will scan what's hooked up to it...

Thanks for the advice guys. I will try a scan later tonight but right now I have a command performance with the War Department to attend. I will post the result of the scan as soon as we get back tonight.
