this model is not out yet.what is known so far from captainfta.com

this powerful unit is a work in progress.the model name does not tell you all you need to know!this DVR will be loaded with features;as well as One-Button-Setup and a 3 or 7 day epg.all captain stbs are backed by our unique 5 year limited warranty.

i am wondering if the recoreder in the captain 9000hd will be able to record in hd , i am eagerly awaiting this new product. i am considering buying a sonicview but i am putting it on hold until i see the specs. of this new captain, their support is good and the 8000hd is of good price and performs well

Are we shure the Box will be HD??
also will it get Dish HD out of the box or will it need addons like others I have seen.

yeah thing is,they can't sell them with the units.
they don't want law suits.
as it seems the only reason to have this add on is for one purpose.
and the fta co.'s only want to sell 100% legal fta receivers.
what you buy after and do to the unit is not the co's responsibility see.
but yeah,they are pricey at this time anyway.

based on Team Captains last announcement in the iks thread.is that yes,they are working on a new MPEG4 unit.
so if this particular model does come,it sounds like its going to be the one yes.
will have to wait and see for sure of course.

but no matter what they call it,even it it wont be this 9k model or whatever.
mpeg4 hd sounds like its coming captains way.
