What the topic says
Mine has to be HBO's short-lived Carnivale. It only ran for 2 seasons but **** it was awesomeness in 24fps.
What is it about? The final battle between Good and Evil is looming, and Ben Hawkins and Brother Justin are on a collision course that could determine the fate of the world.
CARNIVALE follows a traveling carnival as it wends its way across the Dust Bowl, focusing on Ben Hawkins, a mysterious 18-year-old fugitive with hidden talents who is taken in by the carnival, and Brother Justin, the charismatic, shadowy evangelist who will ultimately cross his path. The series takes place at a time of worldwide unrest, with evil on the rise around the globe and the Great Depression wreaking economic and social havoc here at home.
Fantastic plot! Has a bit of everything from the supernatural to historical myths (Knights of Templars, etc). It's frakking brilliant!!! Not to mention great acting! You just can't help but like the awkward Ben Hawkins while sympathizing with Brother Justin.
The reason? Budget. Apparently the show cost too much. Approximately $4 million per episode heh.
Should I still watch it knowing it's canceled? HELL YEAH! I've seen both seasons too many times and I still love it! The show still makes me think every time I rewatch it. It's incredible! Don't miss out. Just watch it!
So, what's yours?
