Upgrading receiver with new bin via USB

I tried to upgrade mu viewsat ultra via USB, when I went to <receiver upgrade>, and pressed <ok> on the USB icon, the pop-up menu would not come up. When <ok> is pressed, it looks like a surge of electricity goes throw the TV. It gets brighter for just a brief moment, like .2 seconds. It is just a quick flash like a light bulb that gets jolted.

Any ideas?

check that the file is on the usb stick....also that its unzip'd..... is the file in a folder on the usb stick mabe try doing away /w the folders.....

remove the usb stick, and power cycle the unit from the back.
if you can now see the menu again, try to put back in the usb stick and load in the bin.

if this does not work you likely will have to load back in the factory file using the serial cable and loader 2 program or rename the factory file and place it on the usb and power cycle the unit.

I think both of you guys might be right in differnt aspects. I am still at work so I had to walk my wife through this.

Hazwis....I had her turn the back off for about a minute . Followed the steps and it did allow me to press <ok> and get to the pop-up window. However when I had her press the new bin it said unreadable image.

K.R.....this is where I think you are right. I think that it is still zipped. I will have to do that when I get home.
