Re: Nano2 users
all CNX receivers require a dongle, none of them have a built in ethernet port.....
Correction: CNX Nano2 does have the dongle built in...all other models of CNX use external Dongle...SJ
"The CNX Nano 2 comes with a serial to Ethernet adapter and no additional dongle is necessary. RS-232 Mode set to Normal."

Re: Nano2 users
the nano2 has the chip built in to it and you get an adapter to convert the rs232 port to rj45 port

Re: Nano2 users
Just plug the dongle directly to the back of the receiver to serial port and run ethernet cable from router to dongle and then follow setup instructions for the nano2 and all will be fine...let us know if you need any help

Re: Nano2 users
The cnx dongle is just like the sv ihub...plugs straight into serial port in back of receiver w/o a cable or if you did get a rs232 cable you can use it

Sure, I'll comment...
You just got an extra Dongle (IX-200) worth about $100. your lucky day. (unless your mistaking the Ethernet Adapter for the Dongle)
If you have (or can get cheap - ebay) another model of CNX like the Nano / Trio / Duo / Mini you can use that Dongle in another room..or sell it to a friend.
And you are correct, the Dongle is built in.

The New CNX Dongle or IX-200 CNX Ihub Internet hub is now available for purchase as the working Nagravision 3 IKS solution for Conaxsat (CNX) receivers. (Original IX-100 worked only for the CNX Nano). The new IX-200 is compatible with the Nano, Mini, Duo and Trio Conaxsat receivers (with power adapter). Also NEW Nano2 with built in Dongle.

satjunkie.....
the serial to ethernet adapter is what i was refering to as a dongle.....my point was, the nano 2 does NOT have a built in ethernet port, which i believe is what the original poster was asking......
he didnt get an extra dongle, he needs to use it.....

An adapter is a pigtail with 2 different ends on it. (like an extension cord)(no guts)
The Dongle is a small box which contains a circuit board (small computer that dials up and connects to the server all by itself) IX-100 the original model...then the new IX-200.
The IX-100 had no power source and was only able to work for the Nano model receiver because the Nano is the only model that has 5volts DC current to operate the dongle circuit board.
The new IX-200 Dongle comes with an optional power supply (5V DC) so the other models Trio / Duo / Mini can work also.
You are correct about no Ethernet port...none of them have that.
That port is on the Dongle & on the Nano2 it is one end of the adapter pigtail.
I think the user (HHH) saw the adapter and assumed it was a Dongle.
An Ethernet adapter is not a Dongle.
You may have set many Nano2 receivers up, but there is no dongle in an adapter.
If you view the CNX Setup Video (which is currently not working on this site) you can clearly see the difference between the Dongle and Adapter.
Hope that makes it more clear...

Re: Nani users
Thanks everyone for clearing that up . I thought when they said that the Ethernet capability's was built in I just assumed the plug was in the back. So I did not get the dongle, just a rs-232 to Ethernet adapter. just a misunderstanding on my end. Thanks, HammerHeadHank
