There are some true FTA broadcasts in English worldwide, including VOA, BBC, NHK, Al Jazeera, MHz Worldview, Pentagon Channel, Russia Today, and numerous religious ones. Subscription providers of the area use different encryption methods for their broadcasts, so support comes from local teams for only the receivers sold in their locale. An SV with US files may work for FTA but nothing else. Search for sites specific to the region and find out what brand receivers are supported.
