My DTV contract has ended and I was wondering if one service was better than the other? Looks like DN may have more HD programming. Any reasons for choosing one over the other (both offer local channels for my area; havent had that in 3 years).

One advantage Dn would have over DTV would be, as a new customer, you would get discounted pricing on some of their services for up to six months plus some of them offer free HD DVR upgrading and service for a certain amount of rooms, etc...

More HD programming is definitely a plus.

Check the net for comparisons and discounts, etc...

Go to each provider's home site and you can use what DN has to offer as leverage against DTV and they will probably match it if you don't want to change providers, etc...

I'd go with DN myself for some other reasons. LOL!

I think DTV have more international packages.

i have a sub for dtv at home and dn for my daughter next door both in my name and i play them off each other to get better deals

I have had them all Dish, Direct, Comcast. I will say that I liked Direct better. Look at all the options in your area, find the best price on the package you want. Call Direct and state that you are going to switch. They will match the offer or beat it. If not you could always switch to the other provider. Good Luck

Dish had some pretty good promos right now. Hooked up with a 1000.2 and they gave me a tripod mount for the RV for free
