Re: Direct TV dish and Viewsat 9000HD

With a single LNB, I would suggest you aim it at 110W, with a little over 300 channels on that bird, you should be good until you decide to upgrade your dish.
Use this Dish Pointer site to get the settings for your Dish --> Satellite Dish Pointer / Alignment Calculator with Google Maps
Then use these settings for you Antena Settings in your receiver....

Satellite..............EchoStar 8,10 (110W)
LNB Power .............ON
LNB Type...............Standard (For Dish Pro set to OCS)
LNB Freq...............11250
22KHz..................OFF
TP Freq................12224
DiESqC 1.0.............Port 1
Motor..................OFF
Legacy SW..............None

You might want to also try the Nimiq sat from the canadian provider using the same settings as above, but pointing your dish to 91W

Re: Direct TV dish and Viewsat 9000HD

Here is the deal with the DTV dishes and LNBs.

-That dish could be aimed at 101W which is a DTV bird and you need to move the dish to a different bird to get some channels.

-if the dish is aimed at 110W which is another DTV bird, you could use it to get Echostar 8,10 @ 110W, but you might be missing a couple transponders, with mostly local channels, but the majority of channels will scan in.

-if the dish is aimed at 119W another DTV bird, you could Scan for Echostar 7 @ 119W, but you'll be missing quite a few TPs, you'll get about half the channels.

In either case you can use the current dish and LNB for 82/91 and both should work, or for 110W. Or replace the LNB with a DP twin LNB and get both 119/110.

It's up to you, and what you want to get.

Re: Direct TV dish and Viewsat 9000HD

I have two dtv dishes pointed one at 110 and the other at 119 and I am getting all the channels with no problem. so yes the dtvdish is compatable as long as you have a strong signal.

Re: Direct TV dish and Viewsat 9000HD

I am looking into buying an FTA and I have the DTV dish pictured above with 3 LNB's but is a Multi Sat. Will the Coolsat receivers work?
