A hard reboot is turning power off using the switch in the back. Looks like you did that when you went to your friends house.

Make sure you are connecting cable to the LNB in coax and not the loop out.

When you say strenght, do you mean signal or quality?

If your signal strength is bad, then it is a connection/LNB/switch problem. If you have good signal strength (> 50%) and your quality strength is low, then it is either a dish pointing problem or a setup problem.

Let us know what your signal and quality strengths are and we can go from there.
