Can an 18" regular dish receive HD?
I am currently testing SD signals on 91w using a CNX Mini. However, I would like to get some HD channels too. I am going to get an HD receiver this week. It all depends on what the local store has in stock. I also got an 82/91 bracket off ebay today. If I keep my existing setup can I just hook up the HD receiver to the second LNB and get test the HD channels on 82? Or do I need an elliptical dish?

yes you can leave everything if you currently watching on your set up,,,but the only thing are you might need a bigger dish to get those hd channels... when i use a small dish(18 inch) the channels are pausing..

Re: Can an 18" regular dish receive HD?
Christy, channel pausing has nothing to do with receiving HD channels with a 18" dish. You might have a setting or bin issue...

thats not a wise way to shop.
especially when spending upwards of $350-500 bucks.
hope they had a vs 9k or an sv 8k sitting on the self for your sake lol.'
but yeah,if you can get a dish and lnb to scan 82w,it can get the hd channels also.
nothing special needed.
