What FTA Receiver For Bell Expressview SAT.
Hey All,
I am going to buy a FTA receiver and was wondering if the Coolsat 8100HD micro PVR will pick up the BEV signal. No good for me to buy a receiver if it won't pick up the BEV signal.
If it won't, what is the best receiver that has HD and PVR capabilities.
Any help would be much appreciated!!
Cheers,
Smokin..

Would suggestyou look at Sonicview8000 or Viewsat9000 as they can support the 8PSK add on card , which will be needed in the future to recievie B3V m-peg 4 signal, At present all HD recievers can encode m-peg2 which bell is using right now but will go to m peg4 in the very near future as DN already has changed to the new format (mpeg4)

Thanks for the Reply.
The viewsat 9000 does not seem to have PVR capabilities. Is this correct?
Does the sonicview 8000 have built in PVR or does it need to be hooked up to a PC?
As you can tell, I am a newbie to the FTA Sat systems.
Thanks Again!!

Re: What FTA Receiver For Bell Expressview SAT.
You can add a external USB hard drive to Sonicview 8000 and I think you can do the same with Viewsat. Look in drop down menu in the top left hand corner for these units and read the info for PVR capabilities for these units, Sonicview has been the #1 seller 4 HD recievers, I personally have setup 7 of these and 1 Viewsat but both are good.

Wow..7 of them. That's awesome.
Can I use a BEV dish with both?

Also, What about the Sonicview 360..Do you know anything about them? It seems good, but doesn't say anyhting about HD.

Re: What FTA Receiver For Bell Expressview SAT.
Yes all recievers can get both providers, 360 is great for PVR as it has 2 tunners you can watch 1 channel and record another but not for High Def. , so you need to decid which is more important, to me HD is the factor, I personally have a DVD recorder with a built in hard drive attached to my reciever to record with.
