The Simpsons to Air 1st Episode In HD
Fox has announced that the first High-Definition episode of the animated hit The Simpsons will air on Sunday, February 15 at 8 p.m. ET.
Although the series, which features such classic cartoon characters as Homer and Bart Simpson, produced a movie in 2007 that later aired in high-def on HBO, this will be the first time a regular episode will be in HD.
According to a Fox release, the episode will feature a plot that has Homer wondering what would have happened if he had been elected class president in high school.
The program, now in its 20th season, debuted on December 17, 1989 after a series of short segments appeared on The Tracy Ullman Show. Over the years, the comedy has featured such talented voices as Harry Shearer, Julie Kavner, Hank Azaria and Dan Castellaneta and writers such as Conan O'Brien.
