Both of those units have their advantages/disadvantages ... maybe pay a visit to the receiver reviews section on the forum here and see what others think about both of those.
You may want to hold off on a purchase such as that, for now until you do a bit more reading.

I agree too. Do a lot of reading. Wait for replies.. Do some research you spending top dollar for it.

Re: whats better a Sonicview SV-HD8000 + A-1 8PSK HD Module or a Nfusion HD PVR
Hello killajay , well i have both. do not use my hd nfusion much, i do use the sonicview more while it is working. i love the menu layout, the guide, the dvr and the great hd picture. but when nag 3 hits i will not be able to use it. now nfusion not so mush of a nice guide, still good, the dvr is not as nice as the sonicview, still good, the menu is good, and great hd picture, and remember it will work only while you are connected to the internet, through card sharing. and it also works on bev right now through card sharing. so just do the research on this site and decide for yourself. if you have any more questions do not hesitate to ask. Good Luck Buddy.

Re: whats better a Sonicview SV-HD8000 + A-1 8PSK HD Module or a Nfusion HD PVR
the nfusion HD will only run with costant connection to the internet, there is no stand alone bin for the nfusion . the sv runs on stand alone files and when n3 is implemented there is no guarantee that the sv will be up for a long while if at all.there is not a guarantee the nfusion will be up either but it is up on b3v by way of c/s with b3v already doing its switch over to n3.like was posted do your research before you spend the money on a reciever.good luck

I would wait until N3 hits us completely, before you invest in a $400 box!!
Get a HD cable box for a backup plan, when N3 hits. No contract needed, pay as you go. You just pay $5 or $10 per month. This is my plan for N3!!!
Until there is a N3 fix!!!!!
Good Luck!

Internet is your friend on this buddy. dishpointer.com tells you the angles, fta forums like this one have all kind of discussions on setups. What you need to do is spending time reading, trying to make sense out of the discussions and test it out. Maybe you can start with a cheap, good non-hd box so that you don't lose too much if you can not make it to work. My $0.02
