Nfusion SD Poll
I have seen a lot of questions relating to which standard Def. Nfusion to get. Anyone who has both of these receivers, post your results. I thought this may help people that may be on the fence. Good Luck

Re: Nfusion SD Poll
In the SD class of receiver, get the Phoenix unit, better tuner, more memory for EPG and other stuff, higher output power for LNB's. HD unit has a great pic, but the box is a bit rich in price as are all HD boxes currently.
The smaller units i.e., the original Nova (now discontinued) but still supported and the newer Solaris (the black one) tend to run a bit hot.

Re: Nfusion SD Poll
I pick up the solaris about two months ago for a back up unit. The set up is easy and I did not notice anything that set me off but the EPG was constantly having to update. I guess the phoenix does not have this problem.

Re: Nfusion SD Poll
if it is a choice between only those two, then the phoenix is slightly better, this is like trying to pick between the lesser of two evils.....
this is like saying instead of shooting myself in the head, im going to shoot myself in the foot, because it wont hurt as much, when the smart thing to do is not shoot myself at all.....
nfusion has the worst picture/display out of any receiver i have tested (probably 50-100), SD and HD.....can i ask why you are limiting yourself to nfusion only?
if your looking for a well supported receiver, and NEED to buy right now (which isnt the smartest thing to be doing), you should consider the SV360's w/ihub.....the picture quality is by far superior.....i think you would be much happier.....
yes i am aware it will cost more money, but remember, you get what you pay for.....

The pic quality on the Nfusion is no better or no worse then any other of the SD boxes out there.
Also keep in mind that Nfusion has been doing IKS for nearly 2 years now while others are just now jumping on the IKS bandwagon.
They have had N3 up on most channels on the northern providers for several months now and will 'flip the switch' momentarily on the southern provider now that N3 is here.
Either way, competition is good and the end-user benefits the most.
All said, I would go with the STB maker that is the "veteran" in the IKS field and not the "rookie"
Go with the Phoenix.
If you are in the footprint for 82w, consider the Nfusion HD if you have an HDTV
Get yourself a 1 meter dish and put it on a motor if you really want to enjoy this hobby and all it has to offer.
