Re: Review all iks recievers......
So the Sonicview 8000 is the one to buy when I upgrade from my dial up connection. Does it do blind scan along the arc?

Re: Review all iks recievers......
Yes SV 8k does do blind scan, but we normally use "sat scan" for dn fta app.

NFL foot ball soon.
Thanks guys for all the good info that gets posted here!!!

If your intention is to watch locals, there is no need to wait for 4 weeks. They are available now thru OTA. Why would you need stb?

From what I read, I-Link appears to be a good stb, but you have to get it from flee-bay. Also, due to the fact that the box is shipped with pre-loaded software, most fta forums do not provide helps.

I would avoid I Link. If paying for IKS and leaving a nice long paper trail is for you...then disregard my first sentence.

Why don't they make an iHub that works with any FTA receiver?

I like to watch the games from other areas not just my locals (south division).
The ota stations here always show the same teams every week. If all the locals are working you can see any game you want.
I will keep my fingers crossed that one of the receivers will have opened them up (locals) by then

Any question about which one is CURRENTLY the pick?

Hi Hassan...I can see you are REALLY new to a forum situation.
You quoted my post and if you re-read it you will see I spent A LOT of time researching and studying BEFORE I ever bought my receiver.
NOW, you want me to provide you with all the answers in one neat package. How do you think I learned all I did to set up my box? Yes, I read, and read and read. You can too.
I also see that you posted another note directly below the one in which you quoted me. Those constitute your TWO posts so far on these forums.
This reminds me of the time in college when a fellow I barely knew asked if he could look over my shoulder to get answers on a test we were taking. I had done all the class attending, all the note taking and all the studying for the test, but HE wanted a free ride.
Getting the message?
Have fun studying..you will learn a lot and be happier in the end.

You don't need locals bud, you need Nfusion, it will get the whole NFL ticket on Bev and on Bev HD.

Can anyone confirm this to be correct? I don’t remember seeing it posted on the Nfusion channel lists but I will look at the old posts and see.
Thanks!

Re: Review all iks recievers......
I have been reading a lot about all these iks recievers and it seems that the k box is the best and seems to be up more than Sonicview and Nfusion? I have read a bunch of post from Itaintrite he's talked me into buying a K Box. My only problem is I am very mechanicaly challenged and it seems dificult to set these things up. Which K Box is the best, I want to buy a unit that will be able to stand up for a while and can take whatever Dish can throw at it. I have wireless internet, can you tell me what I will need to get along with my new K Box?

I am in a precarius position on this..since I started the thread, I have still kept hope that nfussion will "MAN UP" and offically release a statement about not supporting the nova.
In the meantime, because of all the free info here on this site I was leaning on buying a kbox prodigy.
Why, because it comes with a one year warrenty, which means in one year from now support will be the issue, and I have had my nova for 6 months and support is now the issue.
I am still getting a "whack" of channels on 91 (I am a canuck so that suits), but really do not like thae lack of good business practice with the nfussion when they will not say they are not going to release new bins, they just dont.
Business practices....maybe someone can help us both out here...I'm not big on rumors or speculation...so I'll just ask....
Did K-box have something to do with cool-sat and their technology?
AS always, thanks in advance to ALL those who answer!

Thanks for your reply.
I was part of another forum and I asked the question..."why is the no section or support for KBOX?"
I felt it was a pretty valid question considering that only the IKS systems are working and the stand alones...well their standing alone!
I got slapped!
Refered to "site rules" where it says no posting about "banned products" but does not give list. This below was two sort of answers I got before the mods closed my post.....
"If I am not mistaken, and my memory isn't what it used to be, the K-box was a rebranded coolsat. Supposedly, k-box bought a bunch of them from coolsat and stuck their sticker on it. If memory serves, I believe coolsat ended up not getting paid for them. I imagine that left a rather bitter taste in coolsat's mouth, and they would rather see no mention on them on this site.
I could be totally mistaken about this, it happened over a year ago and there was a lot of conjecture and rumours going on about the whole deal"
"As *.*.* stated;Until such time as **** decides to change their minds there will be no sections for KB*x at this site.Discussions about them are also not allowed for them;see site rules;
#16 Discussions and/or files at this site for any brand receiver is at the discretion of admin here;If staff states it is not allowed here than that is final until otherwise stated by admin!
So thats why I am a member of this FTA group, because rule 16 reads like a "blanket waiver" that does not name products that are not to be talked about.
Heck...even if what the first guy says is true....think I'd like to know about?
YES...BUT ONLY IF IT IS TRUE!
Again Ladies and Germs...thanks for your input!
