Review all iks recievers......
I have a nfusion nova....I am still getting a load of bev non premium stations...all my locals, space ae...spike etc.
But in the next cple of weeks I will know where I stand with my nova.
If I am left out in the cold for programing and expected to put out 80 bucks plus delivery(E card) for the chance of screwing myself out of whats left of my warrenty on the nova, I will simply not hand nfusion my money.
Which means I will be on the hunt for another reciever to uh...test!
Which means sonicview or K-box...unless some one else can recommend another brand?
Any thought reviews etc would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Review all iks recievers......
i would wait for at least a week or two to see how is it going with sv with ihub, it's been up/down for the last a couple of days with a lot of freezing, but still don't know about kbok with khub ( not many people are complaing from the receiver so far ) plus i would consider nfusion phoenix or hd but not until see the server comes back up again ( i guess they are updating the server )...if i were you i would wait for another week or two....but it's your call at the end

Re: Review all iks recievers......
Hold off right now Buddy. it seems there is a lot of trouble with servers on Nfusion and Sonicview right now. SV is in Beta format, but I suggest you wait couple weeks, then ask again on the forum. By then, we should be able to give you a more informed answer...

Re: Review all iks recievers......
I got the k-box about a week ago and the uptime has been great. Unlike the Sonicview and Nfusion who are complaining everyday. I would go with the K-box or the Sonicview. Nfusion doesn't support stand alone files, which is a deal breaker for me.

Re: Review all iks recievers......
I am with Jc and yaas.
Wait a couple of weeks before you make your decision.
Personally I would go with NFusion either the HD or the Phoenix not the Solaris.
Reason the Solaris has is the same as the Nova with the Security Chip but the Phoenix has more memory and a longer epg time. Also, from experience, once the NFusion is up and running we never had any problems like down time or Freezing.
Next choice would be SV with the iHub. I would wait till they have perfected it and it is running without a hitch. I believe, they are having overloads on their servers and as a result causing a lot of Freezing at present. Once they get more Servers added we should see a better performance. Dont forget the fact that they had the Stand alone program running without a Blip since January of this year whereas all other STBs needed new bins almost every two weeks.
As for the KBox, I have no experience with them as I have never tested one of those STBs.

Re: Review all iks recievers......
Hey guys (and ladies) thanks for your input, I have another post asking for a comparism to be done between nfusion, sonicview and kbox.
I caught another post doing a light comparism and these are the questions I thought fair to ask.
As of right now I am enjoying all of my bev non-premium channels (locals, space and spike etc) and can really say, besides being a bit of a btch to set up for homing in signal my nova has suffered very little down time.
At this date(26/06/09) and time this is what is important....(1)are you watching tv?(2) And if so how many channels? (3)Useing which reciever? (4)Have you recieved an update to handle the nag3?
(5)How much down time have you suffered in the last 3 months?
I know this is a lot of questions, but being members of this group allows us to collectively pool our knowledge and help each other and newbies to make good sound choice based on experience.
I ask the question so a dealer just cant jump in and say "whatever box is the best" like so many posts I have read.
I personally am waiting to see if the nova will be addresses by nfussion. If after 30 days not I will be looking into another brand....one who will stand behind their product and not bail because of their mistake.I am not about to pay 80 plus delivery to void my warrenty. If Nfusion wants to approach their faithful with a deal...I'm all ears!

Re: Review all iks recievers......
using two KBOX plus since 2 months, very seldom down time, happy to have international on those boxes, as a matter of fact two months now, these are already paid more than their worth of programming, had two nova, using them as door stoppers.

Re: Review all iks recievers......
I've only had my kbox plus for 16 hours; two hours to set up; 14 hours of flawless viewing.
I read all sonicview 360 and prodigy forums for two weeks...nothing but server down and router issues and questions. Read about kbox plus and prodigy for one week. Everyone happy with the 1 hour of down time over a period of a couple of weeks.
Any question about which one is CURRENTLY the pick?

Re: Review all iks recievers......
nfusion nova is dead , no longer supported due to cloning issues.. cant blame the company, the box worked for a while so most people have recovered their money..
nfusion solaris works great for Bev , have had if for a week no issues no freezing.. for dish there is a lot of freezing..
Only negative no internationals.. missing some key news channels like BBC world , fox news and some business news channels...
The receiver itself looks cheap quality and already my power button came dead out of the box.. but since it is working with iks and i saved 25$ buying it from 3rd pary online store i dont care.. If this iks runs for 4 months my money is recovered...

Re: Review all iks recievers......
Thanks all for the input.
I'm still hanging in and w-a-i-t-i-n-g.
Figure if a product is no longer going to get any "service" from the mnfct, should they not just make a statement or something.
People who think that out of all products out there nfusion has the models with the most "workabilty" as of right now, and good reliability since I've owned one. They deserve my patience(I could have had a ecard for a soloris but didn't bother) and I will wait...but if they are going to try and push me into another one of their models without some sort of official release, they bettter be rethinking their business Plan!
If they dont want to support the Nova they should announce it, they'll lose 33% of their immediate resale and only 10% of their fiscal year sales.
I will be in that 33%.....if and when it come to that

Re: Review all iks recievers......
no ppv's on any receiver right now. the eks home site says they will be available for neosat whenever they get that up and going. so far havent heard of another receiver that will have them right away.

Re: Review all iks recievers......
Been thinking about iks just like a lot of other people. Gonna wait a couple more weeks to see what happens. If I remember right coolsat makes the K-Box or at least they started out with their boxes.

Re: Review all iks recievers......
Does anyone know about the I-Link receiver? It has a built in ethernet port. I am looking to replace my Pansat 3500SD with a receiver that will work good and is HD 1080i with an HDMI port.

Re: Review all iks recievers......
Ilink is NOT HD, but appears to be doing awesome...I'm a solid believer in sonicview,
and my 8000 has been almost flawless for the past week. It's a hard choice right now, but I would definately look at the past support to help narrow down the choices. SV's last cardless fix was in January, and lasted till N3-Day (pretty awesome)

Re: Review all iks recievers......
So Sonicview is the one that will do both IKS and cardless and has 8psk built in? I do not have high speed internet, so I need to explore the IKS. I saw somewhere that you must have the IKS directly connected to the PC without a router in between. That is a drawback, because it then is too easy to see.

Re: Review all iks recievers......
A-1 add-on 8psk, available pre-installed from certain dealers (but, really easy to do yourself) iHub runs through a router, it does not connect directly to PC.
