From what I read, nFusion is more stable right now. But, you can get SV 8k for cheap now, new or used. Technical points aside, I would get nfusion if I were you so that not all eggs are in one basket. Enjoy!

I have only seen a few guys that have both but the concensus seems to be the HD picture is about the same. Nfusion has a more stable IKS system however or so they say.

I've just set up NF Solaris for my friend. Solaris's picture is not as good as my SV 360P. I do not have NF HD, so I can not comment on pq. However, I am sure NF HD setup should be very easy as the Solaris. I knew nothing before about Solaris, but I got it to work in less than 30 min including scanning channels ...

You cannot compare a Solaris to the HD box. The Solaris is nothing but a Nova with a different Nic card. Old box with not a very good picture. 360 is a much newer box. HD box is easier to setup and the picture is comparable to the Sonicview HD box from all accounts.
