The Viewsat Platinum Lite was developed to meet the demand for a lower priced unit with the same power as the Viewsat Platinum. In order to accomplish this, we took the Viewsat Platinum and trimmed the fat. The Lite does not include a card reader or Dolby output. Standard remote included. The Lite also has one set of composite outputs. Other than that, it is just as user friendly and powerful as it's big brother, the Viewsat Platinum. Check with your dealer for pricing. The color is also modern and muted. The unit downloads channels very quickly and easily and should not be a problem to the average user The blind scan feature is very useful in locating channels and has a good success rate at finding them. You should be able to find all of you favorite channels easily, but if you need more precision then you are able to use an advanced signal finder for this. The Viewsat Lite works well with a wide variety of dishes and you should not have a problem with matching it with yours.
The Viewsat Lite is a very fast piece of equipment with a great 20ghz processor. It also has a 32MB of RAM. This gives it a very impressive turn of speed for those that do not like waiting for channels to load. It is also easy to upgrade the soft ware through the USB port. You simply load the updates on to the flash drive and then attach it to the port on your Lite. It it also loads very quickly so you will not be left waiting.
Although it is technically very impressive, it is not just for those with a good technical know how. It is very easy to use and you will be using the features in no time and with very few problems. This is one of the areas where Viewsat are so good in giving a good specs. product, but not making it only for the technically advanced. The price is also very reasonable for a machine of this quality.
The Viewsat Lite has a great universal remote with it that in itself will make things a lot easier and less cluttered. The set has an advanced electronic programming guide to let you know what's on and a theme guide to let you know about shows that are your favorites. It also has a range of other features such as multi picture support, MPEG 2 digital and DVB compatibility. The Viewsat Lite has a great array of useful features that add to your enjoyment.
