Question Need help between Pansat 9200HD or VS9000HD?

I got the new illuminati v3 board today but I am undecided which receiver to choose from either the Panny 9200HD or VS9000HD? Please help.

Any suggestions! Thanks.

I would consider support first in your decision. I think Viewsat has much better support. Just my two cents worth...

it has come along way.tho for the money and its missing features,id continue looking.
but for true fta this one will get most channels.for those with bud's this would be the one to grab for sure.
they added diseqc 1.1 which is nice.
it is coming along,i will give it that.
comparing with an sv 8k she really has a long long road ahead of her.

Re: Need help between Pansat 9200HD or VS9000HD?

also, i dunno about the boards working for other models.they might,i dunno.i wouldnt try it before researching it.
the illuminati board is made for the panny 9200.
kinda odd you would buy that first before the receiver,i guess you must of scored a great deal.

but i would consider the sonicview 8000hd and the A1 board.
she is over the top buddy! have to see it to appreciate her, just real classy.
(yeah i have the panny 9200 also-i keep my eye on it from time to time to see how she's doing for everyone)

Question Re: Need help between Pansat 9200HD or VS9000HD?

Thanks guys for your input. Good question Arboristman, I did get it for $200.00 flat for the Version 3, if it means anything. I don't know the difference between the V2 and V3 but the sales guy said it's the newest and best board in the market. If I decide to go with the SV8000, will it work with this board? or am i stuck now with the panny!

Any suggestions!

Re: Need help between Pansat 9200HD or VS9000HD?

i think you would have to pick up the panny 9200 buddy for that board.
it actually is running pretty good now.just very basic.
by basic,i mean really basic.
the pvr doesn't even function yet.-at all.
and none of the other niceties we like in the other brands 3rd party support.
(just a couple little things here and there.)
(by the way, there is an add on also needed for C band for those who run the big dishes to get dvb-s2.was just looking those run another 200$)
dunno buddy.she does have one hell of a pic.
but side by side with an sv8k it makes her look like a baby.completely, and i mean completely different class of coding here.

that is a good deal.
here is what id do buddy.
1.place the board back on ebay.(the v2 boards are going for 250 lol and iv not even heard of the v3 board yet.so you will have NO problem if in fact that is legit,to get back your $ or even make a little.and start over.)

2.hit up the site sponsors here and grab a sonicview 8000hd and look around for the A1 board for her.

3.be one happy man.

Re: Need help between Pansat 9200HD or VS9000HD?

and also keep your eye on the viewsat 9000hd!
they added 2 more coders to get her out of beta very soon!
with claims to have her pvr/surround sound issues fixed up.and also a whole new gui with added features and selectable skins!
so the future for her sounds really nice also.

Re: Need help between Pansat 9200HD or VS9000HD?

Thanks I will do that. This helps me greatly. According the dealer, I have the newest board that is just coming out in the market and I am one of the first to have it. Instead of the V2 having two boards, the V3 is just a single plug in play board.

I will be purchasing the sv8000 today. thanks again for the advice it is greatly appreciated.

Thanks ARB!

Thanks arb for the helpful tip! I decided to go against my gut feeling and chose the panny instead. thanks again for suggestion for helping me decide which HD receiver to choose from. I hope panny doesn't dissapoint its customers for being loyal customers and in hope greatly improves there support over all to match the sonicview and vewsat teams.

You guys rock! Thanks again.
