I am also looking at going high def. I have the view sat ultra now and like it alot along with the support. I would like to know if the high def units come with a pvr/dvr built in, and if so which one has the best overall support. Also must be USB Hosted. Sonic view 8000 or view sat 9000

Re: Best HD FTA receiver ?
SV8000HD is a great box, DN & B3V HD w/8psk add on.
Captain8000HD, another great box B3V HD only, and only for now. IKS dongle available.
No 8psk capability.

Sonicview 8000 is one of the best.
Support is excellent too.

Re: Best HD FTA receiver ?
What's the difference between the
Sonicview SV-HD8000 WITH 8PSK Q-BOARD SV8000 8000 HD and the regular Sonview SV-HD8000? There is about $180 difference. Is it worth paying the difference?

Re: Best HD FTA receiver ?
Than why would they call the version without the 8SPK HD if it didn't get HD?

Well,it has the capability to get HD channel with an add on module that's why it's call HD.
Btw,you will get B3V HD channel without the 8psk.
