hDTV Receiver

I finally bougth HD TV. I do have 2700a. what do I need to do to get HD? if 2700a is not going to work, what receiver should I buy?

you will see great tv with the 2700 but not HD programming.
you can select from various units, read the help forums to get some feedback.

The Sv8000 works great, good support and very easy to use, has 2 usb ports and you use external hard drive with it.

there are 2 hd stbs on the market i like.
1.sonicview 8000hd/pvr
this oe is the BEST.it can do mpeg4hd.total will set you back around 400 for unit.150 for add on. and another 100-150 for nice size hdd for pvr.

2.captain 8000hd
this is the only mpeg2hd only unit i would consider,because mpeg2hd wont last much longer and the price is only around 225 or so.then you still have a reg stb.
this is also known as a "bev only" hd unit.
